Terms of Use

Last updated: 27.10.2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of job.fail (“the Service”), consisting of the job.fail Chrome extension (“the Extension”) and the job.fail website at job.fail, including its CV editor, core skills page, job board, and account pages (“the Website”).

By installing the Extension, creating an account, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Provider

The Service is provided by:

Christian Konrad
E-Mail: hi@christiankonrad.co

Full imprint: /en/imprint

2. The Service

The Service helps you apply for jobs. It lets you:

Your profile, résumé, and CVs are stored on your device, and your job and education history in your account. If you sign in, the essential fields of your profile (your name, contact details, address, and links) are also stored in your account. See the Privacy Policy for details.

The features of the Service may change over time.

3. Age Requirement

The Service is intended for users aged 16 and older. By using the Service you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

4. Account

Drafting cover letters, CVs, and improvements, job.fail tokens and the subscription, keeping your essential fields and your job and education history in your account, saved jobs, job alerts, and CV tips require an account. You sign in with your Google or LinkedIn account. Autofill, the CV editor and its PDF export, the job board, core skills, and adding experiences in the CV flow can be used without an account.

You are responsible for activity under your account. You can log out, sign out everywhere, and delete your account in the settings of the Extension or the Website at any time. Deleting your account also deletes the essential fields, job and education history, saved jobs, and job alerts stored in it, and your unused tokens; unused tokens are not refunded. It also ends your subscription at once; the rest of the month you paid for is not refunded.

5. job.fail Tokens

5.1 How Tokens Work

The Transparency page names the AI models that draft with job.fail tokens.

5.2 Purchase via Stripe

Your purchase contract is concluded with us. Subscriptions and top-ups are sold through Stripe Managed Payments: Stripe’s affiliate Sold through Link, LLC collects the payment on our behalf as merchant of record, issues your receipt and invoice, and handles payment questions and refund requests under the Sold through Link Terms presented at checkout. Checkout and your statement show the purchase as sold through Link. We never receive your payment details.

Once a payment is confirmed, its tokens are added to your account.

If a payment is refunded, in whole or in part, or disputed, the corresponding share of its tokens is removed from your balance. A refund or dispute never takes your balance below zero.

For questions about the tokens themselves, contact us at hi@christiankonrad.co.

5.3 Subscription

The subscription renews every month, and its price is charged at each renewal, until you cancel it. Each month you pay for adds its monthly tokens to your account. A top-up requires a subscription that has not ended.

You can cancel the subscription at any time with Cancel subscription, in the Account section of the settings of the Extension or the Website, or under Manage subscription, on the pricing page or in the account menu. Both open Stripe’s customer portal, where you cancel. The subscription then ends at the end of the month you paid for. Until then, you keep its monthly tokens and can still buy top-ups.

If a payment of the subscription is disputed, the subscription ends at once.

5.4 Right of Withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the EU, you have the right to withdraw from a subscription or a top-up within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period starts on the day the contract is concluded.

To withdraw, inform us of your decision by a clear statement, by email to hi@christiankonrad.co or by post to Christian Konrad, Postfach 50 03 26, 22763 Hamburg. You can also request a refund from Link support and state “cooling off period” as the reason. To meet the deadline, it is sufficient to send your withdrawal before the 14 days have passed.

If you withdraw, you are refunded the payment you made, using the same means of payment, no later than 14 days after your withdrawal is received. The tokens of that payment are removed from your balance, which this never takes below zero. If you withdraw from a subscription, it ends.

Statutory warranty rights remain unaffected.

6. Your Responsibility for Applications

The Service fills forms and generates text on your behalf, but you remain the applicant:

We are not responsible for the outcome of any application.

7. Job Board

The job board shows job postings that employers publish on their own career pages and applicant tracking systems. We collect them automatically and do not review them. When you read the core skills of a job from an employer the job board does not list yet, that employer and its public job postings may be added. Postings may be outdated, inaccurate, or already filled.

We are not the employer and not a recruitment agency, and we are not a party to any application or employment you pursue through a posting. Opening a posting takes you to the employer’s website, where the employer’s terms apply.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

Violation of this Section may result in suspension or termination of your account.

9. AI Output, Core Skills, Recruitability, and CV Tips

The Service provides access to artificial-intelligence models. Output produced by these models:

Core skills are AI estimates of what a job posting asks for. Recruitability scores, fit scores, and CV tips are AI estimates based on common recruiter criteria. None of them predicts how any employer will assess you.

The Service does not provide career, legal, or other professional advice. You are solely responsible for how you use, share, or act upon generated text, core skills, scores, and tips.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including without limitation the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, that it will work with every job platform or application form, or that defects will be corrected. We do not warrant the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any generated text, core skill, score, tip, or job posting.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, opportunities, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service, any generated text, or any job posting.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable mandatory law, including, where applicable, liability for intent, gross negligence, or injury to life, body, or health under German law.

12. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on or integrates with the following third-party services, depending on the features you use:

We are not responsible for the availability, terms, or content of these third-party services. Your use of them is governed by their respective terms.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the Extension and deleting your account in the settings of the Extension or the Website.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, including the Acceptable Use rules in Section 8.

Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6 through 12 and 14) will survive.

14. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules and excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). Mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the country in which you have your habitual residence remain unaffected.

The exclusive venue for disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms is Hamburg, Germany, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

We are not willing or obliged to participate in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this page. Material changes will be communicated on the Website or in the Extension. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
